Visibility
You feel the current before you see what it brings. The water at Thomas Reef pulls you sideways along the wall, soft corals bending in unison, and you let it carry you. Your DPV hums in your hand but you leave it idle — the drift is doing the work.
- Scooter-Powered Exploration — Six to eight DPV scooters are pre-booked for this trip, opening up sites that would be impossible on fin power alone. Cover the full Abu Nuhas wreck complex in a single dive, extend your range at Thomas Canyon, or cruise the Blue Hole wall at depth.
- Canyon Diving Few Divers Access — Abu Talha's canyon system is one of Dahab's best-kept secrets — accessible only at high tide in calm conditions, which keeps it undamaged and uncrowded. The outer reef is a coral amphitheatre with some of the most colourful hard coral in the Sinai.
- The Blue Hole Arch on Trimix — The Blue Hole is a submarine sinkhole over 100m deep — one of diving's most iconic sites. The Arch at 52–55m is a 26m-long tunnel piercing the reef wall, opening to the open Red Sea with over 1,000m of blue water below.
- Tiran's Current-Swept Encounters — The powerful currents funnelling through the Strait of Tiran bring the big animals in close. Thomas Reef — the smallest of the four but unanimously the most interesting — is known for whitetip reef sharks on the sandy plateau, dense walls of soft coral, and the legendary Thomas Canyon descending to 90m.
- Night Diving at Bluff Point — The Barge at Bluff Point on Gobal Island transforms after dark into one of the Red Sea's premier night dives. A modest 35m steel wreck at 14m becomes a nocturnal hunting ground — cuttlefish, octopus on patrol, hunting lionfish, Spanish dancers, and an extraordinary density of shrimp with eyes reflecting your torch like constellations.

Dive Sites(8)

Sha'ab El Erg (Dolphin House)
A horseshoe-shaped reef between Hurghada and El Gouna, home to a resident pod of spinner dolphins. Morning dives offer frequent encounters in the sheltered inner lagoon. The outer reef drops off to 30m with barracuda, tuna, and blue-spotted rays. Visibility regularly exceeds 40m. The ideal check dive — and potentially the best check dive in the Red Sea.

Gordon Reef
The southernmost sentinel of Tiran and the most accessible of the four reefs. A large shallow plateau on the south side features a sandy amphitheatre with garden eels, whitetip reef sharks, and eagle rays. The rusting remains of the Loullia (ran aground 1981) sit on the reef top, now colonised by groupers and moray eels. Currents can sweep across the plateau unexpectedly — never underestimate them.

Thomas Reef & Thomas Canyon
The smallest Tiran reef but unanimously the richest. Vertical walls covered in vibrant soft corals, a plateau at 25m with gorgonian fans and sleeping whitetip reef sharks. Thomas Canyon is the headline: an 80m-long fissure beginning at 35m with the famous Three Thomas Arches — natural rock arches descending to 90m+. Below 40m this is strictly trimix territory; the arches reward gas planning and nerve in equal measure. Dived as a drift dive with potentially strong currents.

Abu Talha Canyon
A site 17 minutes north of Dahab by jeep, accessible only at high tide in calm conditions — the restricted access keeps the corals in remarkable condition. The outer coral garden (5–20m) is an amphitheatre of extraordinary colour. The inner canyon system is technical: a sinkhole at 25m leading to the crack — extremely narrow at 30m with limited exit points — hard coral walls dropping to 50m+, and overhead passages connecting to Abu Helal. The deeper passages are sidemount-only. Excellent for sidemount, CCR, and overhead environment training.

Dahab Blue Hole
A submarine sinkhole over 100m deep, one of the world's most iconic dive sites. The recreational route enters through 'the Bells' — a crack in the reef where tanks clang like church bells — emerging at 28m on the wall before crossing the Saddle at 7m into the hole. The Arch at 52–55m is the technical route: a 26m-long tunnel exiting to the open Red Sea. On trimix with proper planning, it is one of diving's defining experiences.

Dahab Canyon
A tectonic fissure with three openings. The Fish Bowl at 14m is a coral dome creating an enclosed aquarium of glassfish and lionfish. The main canyon at 22m is framed by walls where sunlight creates extraordinary effects. Technical divers can follow the fissure to the deep exit at 52–54m, emerging into open blue water. Good buoyancy control is essential throughout.

Abu Nuhas Wrecks
Four wrecks on a single reef — the Red Sea's most notorious ship graveyard. The Carnatic (1869, 25–27m) with safe swim-throughs. The Giannis D (1983, 6–27m) with penetrable bridge and engine room. The MV Marcus 'Tile Wreck' (1981, 4–28m) with Italian floor tiles in the holds. The Kimon M 'Lentil Wreck' (1978, 15–32m), the deepest and quietest.

Gobal Island — The Barge
Night diving at Gobal Island is a Red Sea highlight. The Barge is a nocturnal playground, famous for its massive resident moray eels, hunting lionfish, and vibrant Spanish dancers that emerge after dark. Nearby, the skeleton of the Ulysses wreck offers a haunting backdrop, its iron ribs teeming with life. Sheltered from currents, these sites provide a calm, immersive theater for witnessing the ocean’s eerie and beautiful nighttime transformation.
Sites depend on weather, currents, and conditions. Our crew optimises in real-time for the best diving.
