The build
We did not charter someone else’s boat. We built our own.
M/Y Celesta is a 2026 new-build — designed from the keel up for Red Sea diving expeditions. Hand-built wooden hull with light steel reinforcements. Swedish-designed interiors. Every system, every fitting, every piece of equipment was chosen by the people who operate the boat.
We own Celesta. That means we control the maintenance schedule, the equipment standards, and the crew. When something needs fixing, we fix it to our standard. When something needs upgrading, we choose what goes in. No inherited compromises. No someone else’s decisions.
Hand-built wooden hull
Traditional Red Sea construction: hand-shaped wood with light steel reinforcements. Natural buoyancy, excellent thermal insulation, and a warmth that steel and fiberglass cannot replicate.
Dual main engines
Propulsion redundancy for offshore passages. Brothers and Daedalus are 6-12 hours from port. Two engines mean you always have backup.
Two speedboats, each dual-engined
Dive transfers and emergency response with built-in redundancy. Two boats mean split groups can dive different sites simultaneously.
Swedish-designed interiors
Clean Scandinavian sensibility meeting Egyptian craftsmanship. Warm wood finishes, individual AC in every cabin, en-suite bathrooms throughout.

Four decks
Deck layout and cabins
12 guest cabins across four decks, each with private bathroom, individual AC, and thoughtful design. From spacious suites with panoramic windows to comfortable main deck cabins — every cabin is built around what divers need after a day in the water.

Dive operations
Built for serious diving
The dive deck is where you spend most of your waking hours. Celesta’s was designed by divers who know what matters: space, organization, and the right equipment in the right place.

Gear stations
Individual gear storage for every guest. Your equipment stays set up between dives — no rebuilding your rig four times a day.
Camera area
Dedicated camera setup and rinse station. Charging points, workspace, and freshwater rinse tanks separate from the main gear wash.
Tech zone
Dedicated tech diving area with space for stage bottles, sidemount rigs, and twinsets. Nitrox, Trimix capability, CCR-friendly operations.
Swim platform
Wide swim platform with easy water access. Giant stride, back roll, or walk-in — the platform accommodates all entry styles.
Between dives
Life on board

Dive Deck
Full dive deck with individual gear stations, wide swim platform, rinse tanks, dedicated camera setup area, and a separate tech diving zone.
Technical Support
Full technical diving support including Nitrox, Trimix capability, CCR-friendly operations, and an experienced tech diver on every trip.
Dining
Indoor lounge dining on the main deck and open-air options on the high deck. Fresh, locally sourced cuisine prepared by our onboard chef — three meals plus snacks daily.
High Deck & Top Deck
Outdoor lounge and bar on the high deck. Above that, the top deck with jacuzzi, sun lounges, and 360-degree views of the Red Sea. The social heart of the boat between dives.
Interiors
Swedish-designed interiors with warm wood finishes. Individual AC in every cabin, private toilet and shower throughout, and a comfortable main deck indoor lounge.

Construction
M/Y Celesta is built using traditional Red Sea construction methods — hand-shaped wooden hull with light steel reinforcements. This is not a compromise; it is a deliberate choice. Wood offers natural buoyancy, excellent thermal insulation in the Red Sea climate, and a warmth that steel and fibreglass cannot replicate. Every beam was shaped by skilled hands using techniques refined over generations of boat building in these waters.
Maintenance
We own M/Y Celesta and maintain her ourselves under a planned maintenance system. Safety equipment — life rafts, fire detection, communication systems, emergency oxygen — is inspected before every expedition. Engine maintenance follows manufacturer schedules. Hull maintenance follows the seasonal calendar. We do not rely on third-party contractors for critical safety systems. Full maintenance documentation and records are maintained on board.

Common questions about the vessel
M/Y Celesta is a 40-metre premium safari liveaboard built in 2026 with a hand-built wood hull reinforced with light steel. Four decks including a top deck with jacuzzi, dual main engines, two speedboats (each with dual engines), 12 guest cabins accommodating 24 guests, and a dedicated crew of 12. Designed from the keel up for Red Sea diving expeditions with full technical diving support. Home port: Hurghada, Egypt.
Wood construction is a deliberate choice, not a compromise. Hand-shaped wooden hulls with light steel reinforcements are the traditional construction method for Red Sea safari boats — proven across decades of operation in these waters. Wood offers natural buoyancy, excellent thermal insulation in the hot Red Sea climate, and a warmth and character that industrial materials cannot replicate. Every beam in Celesta was shaped by skilled hands.
24 guests maximum across 12 cabins across four decks. We chose this capacity deliberately: large enough for a good social atmosphere, small enough that everyone gets personal attention from the crew. With 12 crew members, that is a 1:2 crew-to-guest ratio.
Three cabin categories across two guest decks. Main Deck Cabins (4) with porthole windows. High Deck Cabins (6) with sea-view windows. Suites (2) on the high deck with panoramic windows and additional living space. Every cabin has two single beds convertible to a double with mattress topper, en-suite bathroom with hot water, and individual air conditioning.
Yes. Celesta offers full technical diving support: Nitrox, Trimix capability, and CCR-friendly operations. The dive deck has a dedicated tech diving zone. An experienced professional technical diver is aboard every expedition to support planning, gas logistics, and in-water operations for advanced profiles.
Dual main engines for propulsion redundancy. Two speedboats with dual engines each. SOLAS-rated life rafts with EPIRB. Hardwired fire detection on all decks. Emergency oxygen and AED. Satellite communication and GPS. Professional crew with full maritime certifications. Comprehensive safety briefing at the start of every voyage. Dive insurance mandatory for all guests.
Offshore passages to sites like Brothers Islands and Daedalus Reef are 6-12 hours across open water. Dual engines mean propulsion redundancy — if one engine has an issue, the second brings you home safely. The same logic applies to our two speedboats: each has dual engines, so dive transfers and emergency response always have backup capability.
The main deck has an indoor lounge for dining and relaxation with Swedish-designed interiors and warm wood finishes. The high deck is the social heart of the boat: outdoor lounge, bar area — this is where evenings happen. The main deck houses the dive deck and platform with individual gear stations, rinse tanks, and a dedicated camera setup area — and above it all, the top deck with jacuzzi and sun lounges for unwinding between dives.
Celesta is maintained continuously by the owners under a planned maintenance system. Safety equipment including life rafts, fire detection, communication systems, and emergency oxygen is inspected before every expedition. As owner-operators, we do not rely on third-party maintenance contractors for critical safety systems. We maintain full maintenance documentation and records.
Celesta carries emergency oxygen with demand and free flow delivery, two AEDs (automated external defibrillators), and a DAN first aid kit. We have satellite phone and VHF radio for immediate contact with coast guard and emergency services. Our crew holds current first aid certifications. For serious emergencies, we coordinate evacuation via our two dual-engine speedboats or arrange helicopter evacuation through the Egyptian coast guard. Dive insurance covering search and rescue is mandatory for all guests.
